The UPSC exam is considered to be one of the toughest exams in the country. To pass this exam, not only hard work but also patience and the spirit of not giving up is very important. Ankita Sharma, daughter of Chhattisgarh, is a living example of this. She did not give up even after failing twice in the UPSC exam and became the first woman IPS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre by securing 203rd rank in the third attempt.
Ankita Sharma (IPS Ankita Sharma), a resident of Durg district, did her early education from a government school. After graduation, she did an MBA and then started preparing for the civil services. After preparing for some time in Delhi, she returned to her home and continued preparing for the exam from there.

Her first two attempts in the UPSC exam were unsuccessful. In the first attempt, she missed the mains by 15 marks and in the second attempt, she could not even clear the prelims. But these failures did not discourage her. She worked on her weaknesses and achieved tremendous success in the third attempt. In 2018, she secured 203rd rank with 1035 marks in the UPSC exam. She was appointed as an IPS officer in the Chhattisgarh cadre.
